The Patrician’s Palace Correspondents Dinner will take place at the Irish Discworld Convention on Sunday 22nd October 2023 from 6.30pm (drinks reception) and 7pm for dinner. The price for the dinner is €60 per person and includes a pre-dinner drinks reception.
 Wine can be purchased for €22 in advance to be served to you at the event.  The last day to buy a Gala Dinner ticket will be 1st October 2023.

As we all know, our beloved Patrician is an advocate of the Freedom of the Press, and he likes to keep that freedom on a nice tight rein.  The Patrician’s Palace Correspondents Dinner was established to ensure transparent communication and collaboration between the highest office in Ankh Morpork and members of the press.  It is therefore the “go to…or else” event of the year for any self-respecting hack Reporter to attend and anyway…he’ll notice if you’re not there!   

As is tradition (TRADITION!) the Patrician will be roasted (not over a spit) and we are sure he’ll take it with the good grace we all know and love him for*.  As with all political and media gatherings, the rumour mill will be rife and your exclusive “hot off the press” article may rely on that…listen closely!

Important Notes

• Please note that you must be a member of the Convention to purchase a ticket and attend the Gala dinner. 
• Tickets to the Gala Dinner are bought separately to your membership and must be booked in advance via the website booking form for you to be allowed entry.

• This is an over 16’s event however the hotel have recommended a babysitting service for those with wee free men (and small keldas) in attendance. ‘Supercare for Superheros by Auntie Katie can be reach on email at katiesweddings@yahoo.com and they have a facebook page
• Please note your menu choices, including your choice of pre-dinner drink and wine, is final on booking and cannot be changed on the night.  
• Please make a note of all dietary and allergy requirements you have in the box provided. The hotel is also able to accommodate specific requests – please tell us. 
• Under ‘Seating Requests’, please be sure to put the badge name and membership number of a member who you'd like to be seated with (including family and people booked in the same transaction) or avoid (including family and people booked in the same transaction!). We will do our best to accommodate all requests. You can find badge names and membership numbers on our website under Membership and Members List.

Please also note that, as with our memberships, tickets purchased for the Gala Dinner are non-refundable.
