Do we even need an "About" section for the Emporium...? Well we'll do one anyway 'cos Bernard knows where we live! For over 25 years, the Denizens of the Emporium have worked with STP to bring the magic of Discworld to life, collaborating on publications, assisting the author with his research, hosting events, and making little souvenirs of the books that mean so much to so many. They truly are the Guardians of the Disc on round world having latterly looked after Sir Terry's estate. While Bernard, Isobel, Ian, Reb and all the Emporium motley crew cannot be with us in person, they are very much with us in spirit - they recommend the whiskey - and have lent us their very valuable support for this year's Con as they always do. |

Waterstones began in 1982 under the aegis of its founder, Tim Waterstone just one year before STP wrote his first Discworld novel - The Colour of Magic. Over the decades, they have grown to become an icon of the the cultural landscape, just like Sir Terry! They employ over 3000 superb booksellers across 280+ stores, that have become browsing sanctuaries and natural habitat for us book fiends. The fantastic folk at their Cork City store are returning to our first in-person Con in 4 years to lend their support as they have done many times before and to tempt us with delectable literary treats! |

Backspindle Games was established in Northern Ireland in 2010, the same year that "I Shall Wear Midnight" was released, following the development of a game called Guards Guards. With a focus on delivering fun and strategy board games, their philosophy, much like STP, is that you are never too old or too young to have fun with friends playing games. They now have so many more games on offer including the infamous CLACKS! The good folk at Backspindle continue to support the Irish Con and return to us in 2023 with game goodies galore to treats ourselves and our friends to! |

Growing up in the Black Forest in Germany as a hopeless dreamer with an overactive imagination, Janina Franck began writing at a young age to give a voice to the stories living inside her head. As a teenager, she moved to the emerald isle and went on to study Modern Languages and Multimedia. While her surroundings changed, her desire to create stories did not, which she now pursues across various types of media. Nina (as we call her on the iDWCon Committee as she is our wonderfully talented graphic designer, theatrics writer and at-times artist) is an invaluable part of the Irish Convention and makes a significant and creative contribution to our beloved gathering. All this and she's on novel number five having contributed stories to five anthologies also...Busy lady! |
